Meeting called to order at 6:00pm by chairman Pharo.

Roll Call

Chairman Pharo, Secretary Higbee, Treasurer Robertson, Commissioner Lupton, Clerk Rothman.

Minutes of December 2 were approved as recoded, Higbee, Lupton.

Motion to pay bills, Pharo, Higbee.

OLD BUSINESS

Mr. Robertson gave the following report,

  1. The overhead doors were serviced by South Jersey Door. The problem at the Newport station with the doors not working properly was fixed.
  2. Seven of the twelve members that need physicals have been completed. The remaining five have appointments scheduled.
  3. A new lease on a copier for the Fortescue station was presented to the board. It was approved.

NEW BUSINESS

Mr. Higbee gave the following report,

  1. The advertisement for the election on February 15th was published.
  2. The petitions for anyone that is interested in running for the Board of Commissioner are now available. At this time two have been picked up.
  3. It was noted that Mr. Baginsky will not seek reelection.
  4. It was asked that a meeting be set up with Mr. Colavitas office and the board. Clerk Rothman will contact Mr. Colavitas office and report back with a date.

The Chairman stated that a resolution is needed for a temporary budget for 2020. The Secretary read resolution #20-01 for a temporary Budget to the body. A roll call vote of 4-0 in favor was passed. Commissioner Baginsky was not present.

Clerk Rothman gave update on the 2020 budget, at this time DCA has not returned the adopted 2020 budget.

Chief Robertson gave an update on fire company matters, i.e.; training, equipment, and company needs and goals for the upcoming year.

Mr. Pharo reported that on February 15th elections will be held for two (2) seats on the board of commissioners. The Newport station will be open for voting from 2:00pm to 9:00pm. He also reminded all to vote on the requested appropriation budget.

Mr. Higbee remined all that picked up petitions for the upcoming elections that they must be turned in by Saturday the 18th of January with the required signatures and notarized.
