October 4, 2022

Meeting called to order by Chairman Pharo at 6:00pm.

Roll Call, Chairman Pharo, Vice Chairman Lupton, Treasurer Robertson, Secretary Higbee, Commissioner Cowley, Clerk Rothman.

Public on hand, 10.

Minutes of the September 6 meeting were approved as recorded, Lupton, Pharo.

Motion to pay bills, Higbee, Cowley.

 

OLD BUSINESS

Mr. Robertson gave the following report,

  1. There has been no update on the grant for turnout gear and dive equipment as of this time.
  2. The 5 ton has been fixed over the last month. Water pump, thermostat, and auto inflatable tire system. New radios will be installed on Oct 18. The hoops for back of the 5 ton will also be picked up at some point this month.
  3. The equipment for the fire police has been ordered.

Mr. Rothman gave the following report,

  1. The man door at the Fortescue station is still not repaired. A call to Millville Door will be made for them to come back and fix.

 

NEW BUSINESS

Mr. Robertson gave the following report,

  1. A significant leak has formed at the Newport station on the roof. Many documents have been destroyed in the office. The Chief showed the board pictures that were take earlier in the day. The board approved emergency repairs to the roof. Clerk Rothman will contact Rhubart’s roofing from Millville on Tuesday the 4th.

Miss Cowley reported on Downe Home Day on the 15th of October. The Fire Company will make available a truck for this event.

Mr. Rothman and Mr. Lupton that the township and OEM is looking into equipment to do Fire Company’s ID. Will report back.

Mr. Rothman reported that next month is the time to introduce the 2023 budget. The deposit sheets as well as account expenditures were distributed to all board members for their review. Mr. Rothman will contact the accountant for a review of line-item transfers as well as budget. At this time there appears that no increase is needed. We will need information on a possible new rescue so that it can be included with the 2023 ballot. Mr. Robertson will gather this information and report back.
