THE COMMISSIONERS OF FIRE DISTRICT NO 1

IN THE TOWNSHIP OF DOWNE

COUNTY OF CUMBERLAND

Meeting called to order at 6:00pm by Chairman Pharo.

Roll Call

Chairman Pharo, Vice Chairman Lupton, Treasurer Robertson, Secretary Higbee, Commissioner Cowley.

Minutes of September 6th were approved as recorded.

Motion to pay bills Higbee, Lupton.

OLD BUSINESS

Mr. Robertson gave the following report,

  1. The camera system at the Fortescue station are up and working. A brief demonstration was given to the board on how they operate. The Newport station will be on line shortly.
  2. Hose and pump testing will be done on Sept 3ed or 4th by Fire One.
  3. There has been a revised quote on the doors and locks for both the Fortescue and Newport station from Millville Glass and Door. The quote came in at $9,466.70 for all the listed work. This was the lowest bid submitted. A motion was made by Pharo and seconded by Lupton. Millville Glass and Door to do the work. The work needs to be completed ASAP due to the main door at the Fortescue station.
  4. The 5 ton has new batteries.
  5. The tires for 39-23 are on order and will be replaced soon.
  6. The new radio will be installed on R39 on the 17th of August.

NEW BUSINESS

Mr. Rothman gave the following reported that we have been notified that the workman’s comp policy has been slated to have an increase. After the board discussed the rate of increase and the reason it was decided to have the clerk contact Gosweiler office. This is not acceptable. We will have an updated with the August meeting.

Miss. Cowley reported that the Green Team fundraiser/ dinner will bill held at the Fortescue station Saturday August 15th. The cost will be $20.00per plate.

Mr. Higbee reported on the dive team equipment and COVID 19 precautions and procedures.

At 6:10pm Mr. Robertson asked for an executive session to discuss a personnel issue. The executive session was ended at 6:20 pm.
