Meeting called to order at 6:00pm by chairman Pharo.
Roll Call; Chairman Pharo, Vice Chairman Lupton, Secretary Higbee, Treasurer Robertson, Commissioner Cowley, Clerk Rothman.
Public on hand 6.
The minutes of the February 1 meeting were approved as recorded.
Motion to pay bills, Higbee and Lupton.
NEW BUSINESS
Mr. Robertson gave the following report,
- The water level gauge on T-39 is out of order. Emergency Vehicle Service will order and install parts.
- The fire inspections at both the Fortescue and Newport stations are completed at this time. The only recommendation is that the alarm system at the Newport station be serviced.
- A discussion on selling one of the older boats due to the new Sonar boat coming in soon. It was decided that the smaller and older 12’ Carolina skiff with a 30hp engine will be advertised on GOVDEALS.COM The sale price was not decided at this time. All 5 commissioners were in favor of this.
Mr. Higbee noted that petitions for the open seats for the board of Commissioners are available tonight and must be turned in by the 22ed of march. Cliff Higbee and Charles Lupton both picked up petitions.
Mr. Rothman gave the following report,
- There was some correspondence from the County Board of Elections, (Kelly Hoffman) on the times and date of this year’s election. It will be held on April 20th from the hours of 2:00pm to 9:00pm at the Newport Station.
- The new Board of Commissioners web site is updated and is available to the public at this time. downetwpbofc.org
- All 2020 books are at the auditor’s office at this time.
OLD BUSINESS
Mr. Robertson reported that we are still waiting on the air pack bottles for the SCOTT packs from Mid Atlantic Fire Protection of Reading Pa.
Mr. Rothman gave an update on the new sonar boat USDA grant. All paper work has been turned in and we are waiting on word from the USDA on status. Salem Boat Exchange needs to order the motor at this time due to the availability of it. All other items will wait for finial approval from the USDA.
